Immunization Calendar – List of Vaccinations For Your Child

The following immunizations can be found on our Pediatric Calendar. Prepare in advance by referencing it to find out when you can expect to have each vaccination.

Varicella - Chickenpox

  • Disease spread by air or direct contact
  • Disease symptoms - rash, tiredness, headache, fever
  • Disease complications - Infected blisters, bleeding disorders, encephalitis(brain swelling), pneumonia(infection of the lungs)

DtaP or Tdap - Diphtheria, Tetanus, and pertussis

  • Diphtheria
    • Disease spread by air or direct contact
    • Disease symptoms - sore throat, mild fever, weakness, swollen glands in neck
    • Disease complications - Swelling of the heart muscle, heart failure, coma, paralysis, DEATH
  • Pertussis (Whooping cough)
    • Disease spread by air or direct contact
    • Disease symptoms - severe cough, runny nose, apnea (a pause in breathing in infants)
    • Disease complications - Pneumonia(infection of the lungs), death
  • Tetanus
    • Disease spread by exposure through cuts in skin
    • Disease symptoms - stiffness in neck and abdominal muscles, difficulty swallowing, muscle spasms, fever
    • Disease complications - Broken bones, breathing difficulty, DEATH

Hib - Haemophilus influenza type b

  • Disease spread by air or direct contact
  • Disease symptoms - may be no symptoms unless bacteria enters blood
  • Disease complications - Meningitis(infection of the covering around the brain and spinal cord), mental retardation, epiglottis(life-threatening infection that can block the windpipe and lead to serious breathing problems) and pneumonia (infection in the lungs), death

HepA/HAV - Hepatitis A

  • Disease spread by personal contact, contaminated food and water
  • Disease symptoms - May be no symptoms, fever, stomach pain, loss of appetite, fatigue, vomiting, jaundice(yellowing of skin and eyes), dark urine
  • Disease complications - Liver failure

HepB/HBV - Hepatitis B

  • Disease spread by contact with blood or body fluids
  • Disease symptoms - May be no symptoms, fever, headache, weakness, vomiting, jaundice(yellowing of skin and eyes), joint pain
  • Disease complications - Chronic liver infection, liver failure, liver cancer

Flu Vaccine (TIV) - Influenza

  • Disease spread by air or direct contact
  • Disease symptoms - fever, muscle pain, sore throat, cough, extreme fatigue
  • Disease complications - Pneumonia(infection in the lungs)

MMR - Measles, Mumps and Rubella

  • Measles
    • Disease spread by air or direct contact
    • Disease symptoms - Rash, fever, cough, runny nose, pinkeye
    • Disease complications - Encephalitis(brain swelling), pneumonia(infection in the lungs), death
  • Mumps
    • Disease spread by air or direct contact
    • Disease symptoms - swollen salivary glands(under the jaw), fever, headache, tiredness, muscle pain
    • Disease complications - Meningitis(infection of the covering around the brain and spinal cord), encephalitis(brain swelling), inflammation of the testicles or ovaries, deafness
  • Rubella
    • Disease spread by air or direct contact
    • Disease symptoms - rash, fever, swollen lymph nodes
    • Very serious in pregnant women - can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, premature delivery and birth defects

IPV - Polio

  • Disease spread through the mouth
  • Disease symptoms - may be no symptoms, sore throat, fever, nausea, headache
  • Disease complication - Paralysis, DEATH

PCV - Pneumococcal

  • Disease spread by air or direct contact
  • Disease symptoms - may be no symptoms, pneumonia(infection of the lungs)
  • Disease complications - Bacteremia(blood infection), meningitis (infection of the covering around the brain and spinal cord), DEATH

RV - Rotavirus

  • Disease spread through the mouth
  • Disease symptoms - Diarrhea, fever, vomiting
  • Disease complications - Severe diarrhea, dehydration

MCV (Series) - Meninogococcal

  • Disease spread by air or direct contact
  • Disease symptoms - sudden onset of fever, headache and stiff neck. Also can have nausea, vomiting, Photophobia(increased sensitivity to light) or confusion
  • Disease complications-DEATH, apputation, loss of hearing, blood poisioning, organ failure, brain swelling

HPV - Human Papoloma Virus

  • Disease spread by genital contact(via intercourse), or saliva(throat variety)
  • Disease symptoms - None, genital warts, warts in throat
  • Disease complications - Cervical cancer, other cancers
